Moving and Assisting of People Level 2 (VTQ)

This course is ideal for healthcare settings where safer moving and positioning of people as well as manual handling of objects are essential. The course meets the standards of the HSE Manual Handling Regulations 1992 as well as other relevant regulations and guidelines. It also includes a module on slips, trips and falls.
These courses deliver the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the principles of: safe Moving and Assisting of People, carrying out risk assessments, personal safety, health, personal dignity, handling risk & injury and safe use & care of equipment. Topics include: Anatomy and role of the spine, bio-mechanics, controversial lifting techniques, ability testing, simple handling techniques, chair transfers, bed transfers, hoisting, stand aid, slings, slide sheets and rolling a resident.
This qualification is also endorsed by TQUK, which is an awarding organisation regulated by OFQUAL.
