This accredited qualification provides theoretical and practical training in First Aid techniques specific to infants aged 0 to 1 and children aged from 1 to the onset of puberty. You will be able to assess and react appropriately to an emergency, such as an unresponsive child or infant who has an airway obstruction or suffers from shock. Moreover, the course abides by the HSE and the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, with the latest CPR and Coronavirus recommendations and the latest 2019 learning outcomes stipulated by the Awarding Organisations.
Topical subjects include wounds, fractures, dislocations, head, neck, back, eyes, ears or nose injuries, poisoning, bites or stings and electric shock.
This qualification consists of two units and is provided over two days with a minimum contact time of 6 hours per unit.
This course can be completed as the online part 1 of a 2-part blended course. After completing this online course, you may find and attend the classroom-only part 2 course and reduce your training hours.
